Christopher Miles - AM Strategies Group
Christopher Miles is the president and founder of AM Strategies Group, a political consulting firm based out of Washington, DC and Miami, FL. Chris is well-known for being accessible to his clients around the clock. If he is not hosting early-morning conference calls with campaign staff, he is usually on an airplane traveling to the districts of his clients to meet directly with the campaign team. Chris is a steady hand during turbulent moments and embraces Winston Churchill’s mantra of “Keep Buggering On.” Whether the wind is in the face of his clients or on their backs, Miles ensures that the team is always moving forward. Miles is a known consensus builder who also strives to bring teams together while keeping the mood upbeat and positive.
Most recently, Chris directly consulted on numerous battleground races across the United States, including Florida’s most recent attorney general’s race along with serving as the architect of flipping a key state senate seat in Florida against a long-term incumbent to help deliver Governor Ron DeSantis a super-Majority in the Florida Senate for the first time in history.
Miles also helped the GOP make inroads in traditionally deep-blue regions of the country like Rhode Island’s Second Congressional District. Under the leadership of Miles, the race was so competitive that it drew millions of dollars in spending from outside groups while helping expand the battlefield for control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
One could very well argue that without Chris’s efforts in the 2020 election cycle, the Speaker’s gave today would very well still be in the hands of Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats. During this cycle, Miles was selected by now-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to head the National Republican Congressional Committee’s efforts in the Southeast United States. In this role amidst unprecedented political and social volatility, Miles oversaw ten states and dozens of congressional races that included over one hundred million dollars in spending. The end result was Republicans netting 15 seats despite political prognosticators predicting the GOP would lose over two dozen seats, including many races from within Miles’s region.
Miles, who is bilingual and a proud Cuban American, helped the Republican Party make inroads with Florida’s Hispanic communities. Earlier in his career, Chris worked in Florida politics, where he served in several government roles, including Chief of Staff to the Miami-Dade County School Board, Legislative Aide in the Florida House, Senior Advisor to Florida’s Attorney General and as Special Assistant to Florida’s Governor. He has also served in senior official and political roles in Washington, DC for U.S. Senators and Members of Congress.
In addition to his political work, Chris has advised numerous interest groups and corporate clients on political strategy and messaging. Miles has extensive experience navigating bureaucratic systems at the state, local and federal levels.
President George W. Bush awarded Chris with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for Lifetime achievement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Florida International University and a Master of Public Administration from Penn State University.
He lives in Miami, FL, with his wife, Gina, and son, Walker.
